Simple French Recipes - How to make roast chicken Provencal

Some French recipes are complicated, but many of them are actually very simple, including the following recipe for fried chicken Provencal. The chicken is combined with tomato, basil, onion, garlic, wine, broth and olives in this recipe and this is all you need to make a tasty dish. You can serve with mashed or boiled potatoes, rice or potatoes.

This recipe serves four people and is ideal if you have a dinner party and you want to serveclass, but not too clumsy. So what exactly Provencal? Provence is a region in southern France and a recipe that is labeled with the term "Provence" or "Provence", this means that it is prepared in the style of the region.

Herbes de Provence

You may have heard of Herbes de Provence, which is a combination of fennel, savory, thyme, basil and more. Timo is usually the strongest flavor, but it depends on the manufacturer. Lavender is added toAmerican mix, but not the traditional French. This spice blend has been since the year 1970 and you can use it to flavor grilled meat, fish or vegetables.

The dishes of this region of France has always used a lot of herbs, but the people who live in the area still have the herbs separately, rather than a mix of Herbes de Provence.

Recipe - Step by Step

What you need:

3 pounds chicken
2 plum tomatoes
1 / 2 cup fresh basilBrowse
1 onion
1 clove garlic
3 / 4 cup veal stock
1 / 2 cup dry white wine
1 / 4 cup Kalamata olives
Salt and black pepper
How:

Preheat oven to 450 degrees C. Sprinkle chicken with salt and pepper and turn it into a ten-inch baking pan. Bake in the center of the oven for twenty minutes.

As the bird roasts, mince garlic and onion. Pit the olives and chop finely. Chop enough to get two tablespoons basilthe remaining basil and cut into thin strips. De-seed tomatoes and cut into quarter pieces.

Set the oven temperature to 350 degrees F and fry the chicken for another forty minutes or until a thermometer inserted in the center of the thigh reads 170 degrees F and juices Chicken Run clear. Place the chicken on a cutting board and make a loose foil tent over it to keep warm.

Pour all the fat, except for two teaspoons of the pan and frythe onion half a minute, stirring all the time. Add garlic and cook another minute and a half. Add the white wine to de-glaze the pan, scraping the burnt bits from the bottom.

Boil the mixture until it reduces by half, then add the broth. Bring to a boil and add the olives and tomatoes. Boil the sauce for three minutes or until it thickens. Mix the basil strips and remove the mixture from the heat. Cut the chicken into four pieces and pour the sauceit. Sprinkle chopped basil over the top and serve.

Step 2 Remove the chicken from the attributes, remove giblets, rinse, pat-dry seeds, cover with a generous amount of salt, spread over 3 tbsp. of butter. Grease abit 'of butter on the bottom of the pan and place in the center of the oven, breast side up. Add some 'of rosemary if you like. Bake for about 65 minutes, assuming an average size chicken. (For a little over 3.5 pounds, add about 8-10 minutes per pound.) Phase 3 Step 2 is really all there is to it! I usually do is flip on the tube, pour the wine, and then chop the remaining vegetables such as onions, carrots and garlic (all chopped coarse). Then, about 20 minutes indeal, add a cup of water in the pan, mix all the accessories, and sprinkle around the chicken. After that, I thread of olive oil over the vegetables. Quick recipes for diet

The best recipes are those that diet quickly and painlessly. Painless, and the recipes are very good indeed.

And there are many recipes in the world that are fast but are good for a diet? I have some suggestions for a quick recipe for a diet, most of my expertise.

It 'best to start with a breakfast, because breakfast is known as the most important meal of the day: To provide 30% of the energy of the body for days.

When the diet, my breakfastmeal is as follows:

- Eggbeater omelet with assorted vegetables
- Fruit sides
- Skimmed milk

Not much, but it's definitely faster. An omelet requires only about 5 minutes of cooking, chop an onion or green pepper, toss them in, and you have a great breakfast. I normally would have paid at the side, like a cut apple or grapes. Just a little 'more to me to fill.

And you can not go wrong with skimmed milk compared to conventional.

I remembermy lunch meal is a bit 'different, but still fast enough.

- Grilled chicken, no spices or marinade (as much as I wanted)
- Rice
- Water

The best thing about this dish, although small, is that it is incredibly simple. Grilled chicken and anyone can use my George Foreman grill for better performance. The rice takes about 5 minutes of cooking, and water as a drink is always a solid choice when cutting calories.

But let's not forget the importance ofproteins. And when I was dieting I always like to make myself a protein shake. For many dieters may be the best, fastest thing for them. After all, just throw stuff in a blender and turn it on.

A typical protein shake for me is like this:

- Skimmed milk
- Whey Protein
- Ice
- Strawberries, bananas and other fruit you like

Not much to it, and it takes no more than five minutes!

I leave the dinner for the consumer, as isprobably the most difficult to produce food. In general, however, adherence to a meal with steamed vegetables, lean meats like fish, or cereals such as rice are a good idea.

Personally, especially doing what I had for lunch again for dinner.

A great idea is to share your food, no matter what the recipe. In this way you will never eat too much, because the calories will always be small.

In the end, for the recipes to go fast, plug everything into the blenderprobably the best choice.

To regulate the body processes; to keep the body in good working order.

To promote the growth and to keep the body healthy.

BASE FORMING, ACID-FORMING FOODS.
Besides grouping our foods under the headings of six foodstuffs, we classify them as base forming and acid forming. These terms do not refer to the taste of food but rather to the use of foods in the body. Foods are acid-forming or base forming according to the ash that is left after they are digested and utilized by the body. The body needs both types of foods so that one counteracts the other, preserving neutrality that is essential for health.

Base-forming foods are milk, milk-products, fruits, and vegetables, except prunes, plums, cranberries and corn.
Acid-forming foods are meat, fish, egg, grains, prunes, plums, cranberries, and corn.

POTATOES

Potatoes are a big part of most meals. Did you know there is eight ways (maybe more) of preparing them?

BOILED POTATOES.

Select potatoes that are smooth and have uniform size. Cook in boiling, salted water until soft. Drain and let stand uncovered in a warm place until served. Serve hot. Potatoes may be boiled with the skins on or steamed.

RICED POTATOES.

Put cooked potatoes through a hot potato-ricer and serve at once. do not pack or mash in putting into the serving-dish. Sprinkle with paprika.

Mash the cooked potatoes with a potato-masher until soft; add the butter, salt, pepper, and milk, and beat all until light and fluffy. Pile lightly in a hot serving-dish.

BAKED POTATOES

Select smooth, medium-sized potatoes. Wash well with brush. Bake in a hot oven 45 minutes, or until done. Break the skins to let the steam escape and serve at once. If baked potatoes stand they become soggy.

the first pig was after building materials for her home.

She read "so the pig went up to the man with the wheelbarrow full of straw and asked". "Sir may I have some of that straw to build my house?" The teacher stopped reading and asked the class, "And what do you think that man said?"

One little boy raised his hand and said, "I think he said" "Holy crap! A talking pig!"

Care Of Silver; to avoid scratching, wash kinds separately. Hold a few pieces in the hand and wash. Use hot, soapy water. Dry and polish by rubbing with a towel. Silver is brighter if wiped without rinsing. Store in cases or drawer divided into sections for the purpose.

CLEANING SILVER; Use an aluminium pan. Put water, salt, and baking-soda into the pan. (For each quart of water use 1 teaspoon salt and 1 teaspoon soda). Place silver in pan. There should be enough water to cover it. Place pan over flame and heat it until the tarnish disappears. Pour off the water, wash in hot, soapy water, and dry thoroughly.

5ml finely grated orange rind

375ml water

1 onion, chopped

250ml fresh orange juice

100ml portMethod

Remove rind from leg and score underlying fat. (The rind may be salted and roasted separately.) Wipe leg with vinegar. Mix salt, paprika, mustard, ginger, sage and orange rind and rub into the leg. Place on rack in large roasting pan. Pour in the water and add onion. Roast at 180ºC for 1 hour, then reduce temperature to 160ºC for 1 hour 30 minutes, adding more water to the roasting pan as necessary to prevent scorching. When nicely browned, cover the top loosely with foil, shiny side up. Pour the orange juice and port over, and roast for another hour, basting twice. (Total cooking time about 3 hours 30 minutes.) Remove to serving platter and leave in warming drawer for about 15 minutes before carving. The gravy should have reduced sufficiently, but may be thickened if desired. Serves about 8.

Making Classic Stovetop Recipes in a Crockpot

If you have bought a crockpot recently, you probably have one of the newer models. A lot of these have a saute feature, which means you can saute meat or vegetables in the crockpot itself.

This is obviously preferable to sauteing on the stove, then having to transfer the sauteed ingredient, plus everything else, to the crockpot. A crockpot is a great investment because you can cook everything from beef stew to French onion soup in it.

Converting Stove Top Recipes to Crockpot Recipes

A lot of people wonder how to make their favorite stovetop recipes in the crockpot. A low crockpot heat is about 200 degrees F and a high crockpot heat is about 300 degrees F. Fifteen minutes on the stove equals about an hour and a half in the crockpot on a high heat or four hours in the crockpot on a low heat.

Thirty minutes on the stove is about three hours in a crockpot on a high heat or six hours in a crockpot on a low heat. An hour on the stove is about four hours in the crockpot on a high heat or eight hours in a crockpot on a high heat.

These figures are approximate. It depends very much what you are cooking. You should also only use half as much liquid when converting a stovetop recipe to a crockpot recipe because water cannot evaporate from a crockpot like it does from a pot on the stove. The exception to this rule is when you are cooking pasta, beans or rice, because these soak up lots of water, whichever cooking method you use.

How to Make Crockpot French Asparagus Soup

If you like French onion soup recipes, perhaps you would like to try the following French asparagus soup recipe. Asparagus has a unique flavor and the following recipe combines it with onions, potatoes, chicken broth, and seasoning, for a healthy and delicious crockpot soup recipe. You will have enough French asparagus soup to feed four people and it is nice served with warm bread for dunking.

What you will need:

2 pounds fresh asparagus
2 big potatoes
5 cups chicken broth
6 green onions
A pinch each of salt and black pepper
Sour cream and chopped fresh parsley, for garnish

How to make it:

Snap or cut the ends off the asparagus, then cut the spears into one-inch lengths. Finely chop the green onions. Peel the potatoes and cut them into half-inch cubes.

Put the broth, potatoes, asparagus and green onions into a crockpot, cover it and cook for about six hours on low, or until the potatoes are tender.

Puree the vegetables using a hand blender or transfer them to a blender or food processor with some of the liquid, then put the puree back in the crockpot.

Stir in some salt and pepper, put the lid back on, and cook on high for about thirty minutes. Serve the French asparagus soup garnished with a swirl of sour cream and some fresh parsley. Bon appetit!

Vegetarian Gourmet Recipes - Meatless Makeovers

Three years ago I decided to go "meatless." It wasn't a difficult decision as I wasn't a voracious carnivore to begin with, however there were a few dishes that I missed that contained meat and wondered how I was going to live without these favorites.

Rather than resign myself to the notion that these dishes could never be converted over to a meatless status, I decided to pull myself up by my vegetarian bootstrings (cotton, of course), and see if I could find a way to convert these meat-ies to meatless.

The first was my Grammy's recipe for American Chop Suey, actually, almost everyone's Grammy made this or some variation of it. I tried different ways but this one comes the closest:

Meatless American Chop Suey

1 vidalia onion chopped
1-2 tbsp. butter
1/2 pkg Quorn (brandname) veggie grounds frozen
2 cans Campbells Tomato Soup
1 tblsp. catsup (yes catsup, you can't really taste it, it just adds a rich color to the sauce)
sea salt and pepper to taste

1 lb of your favorite fancy pasta in its rigati form, that means with lines, or something like like gemelli or rotini

Melt butter in a medium sized skillet over low heat. Add vidalia onion and gently saute until translucent. Add frozen Quorn grounds and heat till thawed. Add 2 cans soup and cook over low heat for 5-7 minutes. Add catsup salt and pepper and cook an additional 102 minutes.

Bring 4 quarts of water to a boil. Add pasta and cook until al dente. Drain thoroughly and add sauce to pasta. Stir to incorporate completely. Serve. Serves 4-6 people as a side.

This next one is an adaptation of a Greek-Middle-Eastern recipe for Dolma. I loved this dish as a youngster summering on Cape Cod. A wonderful Lebanese family "turned me on" to this dish and I have finally found a way to make it meatless and spectacular!

Veggie Dolmas

1 jar of Grapeleaves in brine

Filling:
2 cup basmati rice cooked
1/2 cup currants
1/2 cup of pine nuts ground
1/2 cup quorn grounds thawed
2 tbsp. dried mint (or 1/4 cup fresh mint chopped fine)
1 tbsp. dried parsely (or 1/4 cup fresh parsely chopped fine)
1 tsp dried oregano (or 1/8 cup fresh oregano chopped fine)
1 tsp. sea salt
2 tsp pepper
1 small can tomato paste

Juice of 2 lemons

Remove the grape leaves from the jar, rinse and unfold carefully and rinse again. Lay paper towels and pat dry. Gently remove any stems that are still on the leaves.

In a large bowl mix the filling ingredients together till they are well incorporated.

Carefully separate a few of the leaves and line the bottom of a 1-2 gallon stock pot.

To roll take a leaf, place 1 heaping tsp of filling in the center of the leaf about 1/2 inch up from the bottom edge. Fold 1/2 inch up over the filling, fold each side toward the middle, then beginning at the bottom again roll the whole package up till you have a 1-2" "log.

Continue with the rolling process till you use up all the filling.

Line the rolled leaves up in a circular pattern in the stock pot till all are in. Pour the juice of both lemons gently over the rolled leaves. Place a dinner plate on top with a stone in the middle to keep in place. Gradually add cold water till it just covers the leaves.

Bring contents to a boil then reduce and simmer for about 1/2 hour till tender. Drain water by holding on to stone to keep plate in place and gently pour out cooking water. Leave plate on till almost cool.

Remove plate and serve with plain yogurt, yummy.

These can be frozen in 1-2 serving sizes for later. I like to do it this way then microwave them for a minute and a half for a quickie meal.

FOOD TIPS

PEPPER
Pepper is the number position in spice. We may think salt is; However salt is not a spice but is a mineral.

The most popular types of peppercorns are black, white, green and pink. They are produced by harvesting the berries before they are fully ripe and drying them.

The best flavour and aroma is obtained by freshly grinding them directly on the dish you are preparing. Pre-ground spices always lose their freshness and ability to season as time passes.

One of the best vegetables you can eat is a sweet potato. They are loaded with vitamin A, arytenoids, vitamin C, potassium and fibre. You can bake and then mix in crushed pineapple for sweetness.

Bananas contain vitamin B6, vitamin C, and potassium.

Using Chocolate in Savory Mexican Recipes

Chocolate is not something that many people associate with savory recipes but actually, it can combine incredibly with various savory dishes, lending a rich and smooth texture, as well as a gourmet flavor. Not all chocolate is sweet, of course, and if you have tried bitter chocolate or cocoa powder, you will know this.

Chocolate has been used for more than two thousand years in Central American during the Mayan age, to make a bitter drink. The cacao pods were split and the beans were dried, fermented, and roasted. They were then ground to a paste and mixed with spices and water to make this old chocolate drink. It is believed that chocolate was also used to make a corn mash, which would have had the consistency of porridge.

When chocolate was imported to Europe in the sixteenth century, it was combined with sugar. European chefs however still used it in savory dishes, combining it with venison, hare, duck and adding it to braised dishes. In Italy and Spain, chocolate is sometimes added to coq au vin recipes.

Modern Recipes with Chocolate

If you look at modern Mexican food recipes, mole is the most famous Mexican recipe, which features chocolate. This sauce includes garlic, onion, spices, and chilies. It is often served with chicken or turkey. If you want to try, making some famous Mexican recipes with chocolate, mole is a great sauce to begin with because it has such a mouthwatering taste and such a fresh and complex flavor. Serve it with meat, chicken, or fish.

There are more sweet Mexican recipes with chocolate than savory recipes but using it to add color and complexity to a dish is a trend that lives on. Chocolate powder or grated chocolate can be added to a chili or stew to intensify the flavor and to go nicely with the other ingredients.

The flavor of a dish with added chocolate is not sweet like you might think and a lot of people might not immediately recognize the chocolate flavor; rather they would just enjoy the luxurious texture of the food and the overall taste.

An Easy Recipe for Chicken in Chocolate Sauce

You will need:

1 chopped whole chicken
1 onion
1 bell pepper
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1 oz baking chocolate squares
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1 tablespoon chili powder, or more to taste
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 lb can tomato sauce
2 minced cloves garlic

How to make it:

Remove the skin from the chicken and saute it in the oil. Remove the chicken from the pan. Chop the onion and bell pepper and cook them in the oil with the garlic until tender. Add the salt and tomato sauce, then the chocolate and other seasonings, stirring until the chocolate melts.

Return the chicken to the pan and simmer the mixture until the chicken is tender. Take it out of the pan and remove the bones. Adjust the seasonings and serve with noodles or rice.
