Delicious Rice Cooker Pasta Recipe

Pasta is one of my favorite dishes. However, I like when the loving home cooked food, because it is served at the minute is ready. And the quality of ingredients is easier to control. Onions and garlic are essential. Peppers and mushrooms and vegetables are excellent for balancing the meal, both in terms of taste and nutrition.

This delicious pasta dish can be cooked using a rice cooker. It is suitable for people who do not have gas burners them. For example, I use it in my office, where we only have a microwave and rice cooker.

The meal includes plenty of vegetables, and healthy as can be seen from that perspective. However, I would like a block of cheese you want to add omitted. I also used to add meat protein. Even if I try to cut down on meat and that may in the future.

Ingredients

Pasta Fusilloni

Garlic

> Onion

Basil

Oregano

Pottage

Olive oil

Mushrooms

Bell Pepper

Instructions for cooking

Remove the meat from the refrigerator about 30 minutes before starting to cook. cold meat is more difficult to mix.

Add the pasta to the cooking rice. Some of rice cookers come with a strip of rubber on the bottom of the dough stick to stop the rice cooker. If you have one, use it, otherwise do not worry. Cover the dough with cold waterwater.

Chop the onion and garlic. I used 6 cloves of garlic, onions, and 1.5. Add to the cooking rice.

Cut the mushrooms into quarters and peppers into small 1 cm square. Do you want a fine sauce, chop the vegetables into small pieces. Add the cooked rice.

Bring the mixture to taste with salt and pepper. And add the oregano, basil and vegetable stock.

If using cheese, cut into 1 cm cubes and addto the mix.

Finally, add the mince.

Pour over a good amount of olive oil and stir the food.

Turn the rice cooker and boil.

Potential problems

There are a lot of ingredients in this recipe, cook the rice and small can not handle. When cooking the rice goes to "keep warm" way too early, and the food is, of course, not cooked, then take half of the mixture and continue cooking the rest. The mixture can be cooked removedlater, or save for another day.

Healthy chicken parmesan recipe calories

Since I am losing weight, I experimented with ways to some of my favorite dishes to create standards - the most we have seen, were very, very fattening. My family is always very high on the Italian and Mexican cuisine, and the kinds of dishes are traditionally very, very high in both carbohydrate and fat. This healthy chicken parmesan I tried to cut the fat - but actually going to taste great with make-up.

Ingredients needed:

1 / 3 Vidalia> Onion
10 of the child or a large carrot grated
1 / 2 large green bell pepper
5 cloves of garlic
Italian herbs
garlic powder
3 tablespoons xylitol
1 jar spaghetti sauce (I used pepper and onion sauce)
3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
4 boneless chicken breasts
2 large tomatoes or 6 Roma tomatoes
1 pound organic wheat (I used thin spaghetti)
1 / 4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

I am part Italian, but not enough so Imake my own sauce for hours. However, as I half hybrid homemade salsa and a half jar tomato-based. You could just use premium sauce from the jar - but that would not only be as good? I usually like to use the vegetables in the refrigerator, and in this case I had a bowl of fresh tomatoes and peppers from the garden that he knew very well.

Begin adding olive oil in a large skillet / pan on the stove. Place your 4 chicken breasts in pan and turnheat on med-high heat. While this is cooking, finely chop the onion and pepper and shred your carrot. Now your chicken is cooked on one side 5-8 minutes, turn the pot around and vegetables over the chicken to add. While that is cooking, finely chop the garlic and set aside. Dice your tomatoes next. By the time you finish cutting the tomatoes it is time to turn the chicken again. Add the tomatoes and garlic in a pan, stir untilaround the chicken the best you can. You can adjust the heat down slightly above the middle.

While simmer uncovered that in addition I run the hot water and then a pot with half 4 quarts of hot water and place filling on the stove over low heat. I want the water to a minute after cooking, when I need it (pasta cooks fast) to be. Now I add some Italian seasoning and a little garlic powder, and even salt and pepper to the chicken and the sauce base. I could cook for five minutes andThen add the whole jar of spaghetti sauce and xylitol and mix until very well with the vegetables in and around the chicken. You may need to stack the chicken on both sides of the pan twice to do so effectively. Then, cover the pan with a lid and cook on low and medium. The reason I use xylitol sugar substitute because it is the sauce a slightly sweet flavor and compensates the garlic and enhances the natural sweetness of carrots. Xylitol is good for you because it is anatural substitute for sugar (found in fruits), and did not finish cooking, you know exactly like sugar - with no calories. It has no impact on blood sugar at all. You can get in a health food store.

Turn the pan of water bubbles and get high, add the wheat pasta and cook 6-8 minutes. About half the chicken and add sauce. Drain the pasta, and usually sprinkle with a little 'extra virgin olive oil to prevent sticking, and alittle freshly ground pepper. Now you can turn off the chicken. Pick four plates and divide the dough. Place a chicken breast on each mound of pasta and sauce over the top and the pasta. Sprinkle with freshly grated Parmesan cheese on each chicken breast with sauce and serve!

Italian Lentil Soup Recipe For Warming Winter Meals

When the cold wind at night and takes a sip of frost chills the air there is nothing better than a bowl of soup ready to go home and just need to be heated to a recovery meal that warms you through it .

The great thing about soups is that they are easy to do is double or triple, so on weekends you can cook a big pot and some soup for lunch, before the cold for the rest of mid-week dinners. A good wintersoup will also improve the taste of the track and my favorite lentil soup in Italian is one of those. Two or three days after the make, the flavor has developed into a strong but soft richness that is perfect and has nothing more enjoyable than a crust of bread in a satisfying and nutritious meal.

There is nothing special in this soup, its origins are the kitchens of rural house in Italy, where the good ingredients and do not need to mess with them. If you have a dedicated foodie and you can get your hands on some lentils from Piano Grande in the Apennines in Italy, these are simply the best, but any breed of small brown lentils work well here.

Lentil Soup Recipe

1 medium onion
2 carrots
2 stalks of celery
3 tablespoons olive oil
½ tin tomatoes with their juice
1 ½ cups brown lentils, rinsed and checked for bits
1 l of broth or water
Salt and pepper

> Chop the carrot, onion and celery finely. Heat oil in a frying pan and fry the vegetables made until soft. Add tomatoes and cook over medium heat with the lid until all the liquid has evaporated and sauce has a thick consistency. Season with salt and pepper. Mix the lentils and cook, stirring one minute before adding the broth or water. This soup is tasty enough to ensure water use, but if you happen to have some ham stockin the freezer left over from the Christmas gammon was a whole new dimension to the soup. Boil about 40 minutes until the lentils are tender. The cooking time depends on the variety of lentils, so you can check after 30 minutes. Add more water if the soup is too thick as the lentils absorb the water. Serve with crusty bread and butter and maybe a sprinkling of freshly grated Parmesan cheese on top.

This is good enough for 4-6 servings, but you can easilydouble the amounts and freeze half for another day. Or if the soup two days in a row and you want to vary a bit 'on the second day to add more water and once it has warmed up throwing in a few handfuls of a little' pasta to cook in the broth. The pasta will take the flavor of the soup and make a meal. You never know, even children who claim to be anything like as fit as a lentil soup might be tempted to find that pasta and lentilsactually pretty good after all!

Squash Soup Recipe

In Australia butternut squash is known as butternut pumpkin and is a type of winter squash. It's a fruit that grows on a vine, originates from around Mexico and is similar to a pumpkin, with a sweet, nutty taste with yellow skin and an orange pulp. As it gets riper it becomes increasingly orange as well as becoming increasingly richer and sweeter. Butternut squash is great as it's not only versatile - it's an excellent source of fibre, vitamin C, vitamin A, manganese and potassium. It can be roasted, toasted, grilled, pured, or mashed and used in soup, bread, casseroles, even muffins. Squash soup makes a great starter: it's heathy, easy to prepare and above all it's delicious. Below is a simple recipe that I hope you will enjoy!

Time from opening cupboards to serving: Half an hour, Serves four people

Ingredients: one fairly large butternut squash, a large onion, half a kilo of potatoes, fresh coriander leaves (these are optional), 35ml of olive oil, around 70ml of double cream, a cube of stock, pepper and a 1 inch cube of butter

1. Take the squash and chop off the stalk and flower. Peel with a potato peeler. Chop in half and use a spoon to remove all seeds. Chop into 1 inch cubes

2. Add the butter and oil to a large pan and slowly melt the butter thoroughly.

3. Peel & chop the onion. Fry it gently in the pan, with the lid on, until it starts to soften. Keep stirring and checking to make sure the onion doesn't brown.

4. Peel the skin off all the potatoes. Cut these into 1cm cubes and add to the onions. Make sure you stir them well to get them covered in oil.

5. Add the butternut squash. Stir well then cover and cook for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.

6. After ten minutes the potato should have started to get softer. At this point add the cube of stock to 1l of water, mix well, and add to the pan. Leave this simmering slowly until all the vegetables soften. This will take a 1/4 hour and during this time add water if necessary (making sure the veg are just covered)

7. It is optional to add the coriander but I would definitely recommend adding cream. Once added use a masher or blender to smooth the soup.

Cheese Enchiladas Recipe

Warm, cheesy, and comforting, homemade cheese enchiladas are quick and easy to put together. For speedy preparation you can buy the cheeses already shredded, but to save a few dollars on the ingredients, you could buy blocks of cheese and grate them yourself or designate the chore to a loyal minion.

Recipe ingredients:

2 cups (8 ounces) Monterey Jack cheese, grated
1 cup (4 ounces) Cheddar cheese, grated
1 medium onion, chopped (equals about 1/2 cup)
1/2 cup sour cream or plain yogurt
2 Tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
1/4 teaspoon pepper
6 flour tortillas (about 7-inch diameter size)
1 can (15 ounces) tomato sauce
1 green bell pepper, chopped
1 Tablespoon chili powder
1 teaspoon chopped fresh oregano or 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
1/4 teaspoon cumin
1 clove finely chopped garlic or 1 teaspoon minced garlic out of a jar
1/2 cup Cheddar cheese, grated (about 2 ounces)

For comfortable assembly of the enchiladas it is best to prepare all the ingredients before you start anything. Chop your onion, parsley, green pepper, oregano and garlic as needed. Also get out the bags of grated cheese or grate the cheese if you are doing it by hand.

Now set your oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a medium sized rectangular baking dish. Mix the Monterrey Jack cheese and 1 cup of Cheddar cheese, chopped onion, sour cream (or yogurt), parsley and pepper. Spoon the cheese mixture into the center of each tortilla. About 1/2 cup for each tortilla. Roll the tortillas around the cheese mixture and set them in the baking dish with the seam side down.

Now that the enchiladas are rolled up in the pan, mix together the tomato sauce, bell pepper, chili powder, oregano, cumin, and garlic. Pour this seasoned sauce over the enchiladas. Use a spoon to spread the sauce evenly and make sure the tortillas get wet all over. Sprinkle the remaining 1/2 cup Cheddar cheese over everything and bake until everything is hot and bubbling, which will take about 20 to 25 minutes.

When you serve the enchiladas, garnish them with items such as sour cream, sliced black olives, and avocados. Adding a few tortilla chips to dip in the cheese and sauce could be nice too.

When you have extra time (does this ever happen?) you can consider making homemade flour tortillas to use in recipes like this. They involve about an extra 30 to 40 minutes of effort. Part of that time comes from letting the dough rest, so you are not spending the whole time on the tortillas. Be careful if you try this because homemade flour tortillas are so fresh, soft, hearty and pleasing, you will begin to not want the ones from the store anymore.

Thanksgiving Gravy Recipe

Holidays are a time for family to get together and rejoice life. Preparing the traditional meal during these holidays, especially Thanksgiving can be very stressful. You don't want to be known as a bad cook and you also want people to enjoy the food they eat. One of the biggest problem causers for the holidays, especially Thanksgiving is the gravy. I have include a recipe to help you overcome the gravy issues you might face.

Giblet Gravy

Ingredients:

1 Package Neck, heart, gizzard from TURKEY giblets
1 Medium carrot thickly sliced
1 Medium onion thickly sliced
1 Medium celery rib thickly sliced 1/2 Teaspoon salt
1 TURKEY liver
3 Tablespoons fat from poultry drippings
3 Tablespoons all-purpose flour
1/2 Teaspoon salt
pepper to taste

Instructions:

In a 3-quart saucepan, over high heat, place neck, heart, gizzard, vegetables, and salt in enough water to cover.
Heat to boiling. Reduce heat to low; cover and simmer 45 minutes.
Add Liver and Cook 15 minutes longer.
Strain broth into a large bowl; cover and reserve broth in the refrigerator.

To make the gravy, remove the cooked turkey and roasting rack from the roasting pan. Pour poultry drippings through a sieve into a 4-cup measuring cup.
Add 1 cup giblet broth to the roasting pan and stir until the crusty brown bits are loosened; pour the deglazed liquid/broth into the 4-cup measure.
Let the mixture stand a few minutes, until the fat rises to the top.
Over medium heat, spoon 3 tablespoons fat from the poultry drippings into a 2-quart saucepan.
Whisk flour and salt into the heated fat and continue to cook and stir until the flour turns golden.

Meanwhile, skim and discard any fat that remains on top of the poultry drippings.

Add remaining broth and enough water to the poultry drippings to equal 3-1/2 cups.
Gradually whisk in warm poultry drippings/broth mixture.
Pull cooked meat from the neck and discard bones.

Mustard Rabbit Recipe

This Mustard Rabbit recipe dish takes some time to prepare, but it is worth it!

Ingredients

Half a dozen rabbit joints 4 large tablespoons of Dijon mustard Seasoned flour Large knob of unsalted butter (a couple of ounces is about right) 3 or 4 rashers on streaky bacon onion garlic about half a pint of double cream

Method

Wash and dry your rabbit pieces. Put them in a large bowl, cover with salted water and leave to soak for a couple of hours. Drain and dry.

Coat the rabbit joints evenly with the Dijon mustard and leave them in a cool place overnight. (I suggest the fridge). The following day, I said this mustard rabbit recipe takes time. Dust the rabbit joints lightly with seasoned flour, shake off any surplus.

Melt the butter in a flame-proof casserole and lightly brown the rabbit joints on both sides. Lift out the rabbit joints and set them aside. Peel and finely chop one onion and garlic cloves to taste. Remove the rind from the bacon and roughly chop it. Fry the bacon in the butter for three or four minutes add the onion and garlic and cook over a low heat until the onion is soft.

Return the Rabbit joints to the casserole, cover with a close fitting lid and cook over a very low heat for a further thirty minuets. Remove the casserole from the heat and stir in the double cream. Cover again with a close fitting lid and throw the whole lot into an oven preheated to about 180c. Cook for about forty five minuets..you might like to stir the casserole once or twice during the cooking time.

Serve straight from the casserole (mind you don't burn the table)! Boiled potatoes and the usual green vegetables go well with this dish. You might want to throw a few bread croutons over the top as well. Enjoy.

How to Pickle Onions - Easy Pickled Onion Recipe

Pickling onions is a really easy way to learn about how to make pickles and how to make each pickle your own. The basics are really simple, but the possibilities for variation are endless. You can use small onions, large chopped onions and shallots. Red or white it doesn't matter.

You can work traditionally using malt vinegar with its dark caramel tones, or ring the changes with wine or cider vinegars. You could even add a dash of balsamic at the end to bring in a touch of the Mediterranean. Then, there are the spicing possibilities. Bay leaf and thyme are traditional. Chillies and garlic bring some pungency. Coriander, lime-grass and ginger bring a South East Asian flavour.

Follow this simple recipe for pickled onions but make sure you include a touch of your own imagination, flare and tastes too.

Pickled Onion Ingredients

Onions, small pickling ones are traditional but you could chop larger ones.

Salt

Water

Vinegar

Use as many onions as you like. You will need enough water to cover them all. For every 4 pints of water you need 8oz salt to ensure the brine is of the right strength to stop your pickled onions being soggy. The volume of vinegar needs to be enough to fill all your jars of pickled onions.

Pickled Onion Method

Peel all the onions, leaving the root in tact to stop the onions falling apart. I find it easiest to soak the onions in warm water first, to loosen their skins. Put all the peeled onions in a non-corrosive bowl and cover completely with the brine mixture. Weight down the onions with a plate to ensure they stay submerged properly. Leave for 24 hours.

Drain the onions and rinse quickly in cold water. Dry thoroughly with a clean tea towel then pack into clean sterilised canning jars. Top up the jars with cold vinegar and herbs and spices as you like.

Seal and label.

All pickled onions made at home, improve with keeping. I recommend you leave your homemade pickled onions to mature for three months before eating. This really mellows the flavour. Stored somewhere cool and dark, the sealed pickle will keep for between one and two years.
